AUSTRALIAN STOCKMAN

Our Australian born, Frank Totenhoffer is a well-known Blaxland identity, a Foundation Member and Past President of the Rotary Club of Lower Blue Mountains.

His whip is made from the best quality Australian leather.

In earlier days, when Frank was a boy, hard working stockman mustered cattle over vast distances throughout the Australian Outback. They used a similar type of whip TO that Frank is using today.

The stockwhip was a most important tool for the stockmen who cut a pace upon their sturdy Australian Stockhorses.

Enjoy Frank’s demonstration of whip cracking from a bygone era in Australia’s history on this our Australia Day Celebrations 2000.
Nowadays almost all of the mustering of cattle is done either on motorbikes or from the modern stockmen in helicopters.
